creative prayer journeys

prayer before meals for children

Today Cheeky Monkey has prepared himself a small (!!) snack, and we learn a prayer that helps us understand some great reasons for thanking God for our food.

These films are designed as a resource for those who work with or care for children. Teachers may find them useful with children in school assemblies, in class or in sunday school lessons. Parents may also want to watch these short films with their children to help them pray and understand more about God.

Prayer Before Meals

Dear God,

thank you for the tasty food we eat each day,
you have made such an amazing world full of good things!
Thank you for the fields of wheat that make our bread,
and the trees that provide the sweet fruits.
Thank you for the farmers, chefs and shopkeepers who work so hard,
And for our carers, families and parents who prepare our meals.
And most of all, thank you for the people we share the food with.

Amen.
